Who we are
“We’re PNW natives currently living on the peninsula of Steamboat Island"
My wife Natalie and I are the team behind Island in the Woods.
We began woodworking with minimal tools and a modest 8’x20’ shipping container for a workshop. Today, after many years and countless projects, we've grown into a fully equipped custom cabinetry shop with quality woodworking equipment, including CNC machines for cabinetry, metal art, and signage.
We proudly source cabinetry materials from trusted suppliers, Edensaw in Port Townsend—near Natalie’s childhood home—and Crosscuts in Portland.
Our commitment to detail naturally led us into kitchen and bath design, complementing our family-owned remodeling business, SilverFalls Construction LLC, which has specialized in drywall for nearly four decades. Together, our family brings over 110 years of combined industry experience.
We're here to bring your vision to life—crafted thoughtfully, with quality you can trust.
Passion projects
We particularly enjoy creating tables featuring locally sourced live-edge slabs and colored resin accents. Most of our wood comes from storm-damaged trees throughout the Pacific Northwest, allowing each unique piece to continue its story in your home.

Planning Tips for Your Cabinetry Project
Gather Inspiration: Find pictures and styles that reflect your personal taste. Sharing these with us will help ensure we select materials and door styles you'll truly love.
Understand Your Space: Be realistic about what your area can comfortably accommodate. Overfilling a small space can make it feel crowded or overwhelming. Think carefully about how you currently use your space—what works and what you'd like to improve.
Appliance Selection: Choose your appliances early in the design process. Pay special attention to size constraints, such as hood heights, to ensure everything fits seamlessly.
Coordinate Trades: Ensure plumbing, electrical, and other necessary trades complete their work on schedule and before cabinetry installation begins.
Plan Ahead: Order all components—appliances, fixtures, and hardware—well in advance so they're on-site when your cabinetry arrives, ensuring a smooth and timely installation.
