nature elevated

My Wife Natalie and I together make up the team at Island in the Woods.

With minimal tools, we really started to love woodworking the not so easy way! We used an 8’x20’ shipping container as a shop, not knowing if it would ever amount to much. Now after a many years and countless projects later we have a large shop and we’ve refined our skills, we’ve built up our shop to include quality woodworking tools including a 4x8 CNC so we can focus on custom cabinetry. We also have a plasma CNC for metal art and signage. We are a fully equipped custom shop.

Our attention to detail over the years has led us into kitchen and bath design. This goes hand in hand with our small family owned and operated business, SilverFalls Construction that has branched out into kitchen and bathroom remodeling. Dad has owned SilverFalls for 39 years and the four of us collectively have over 110 years of experience in drywall. Check out our Bio at SilverFallsFinishes.com

With our ability to design our projects in 3D with realistic rendering we can make your visions a reality, wether you have us design your dream project to take to your builder of choice, have been referred by one of our contractors we regularly work with or you have us build it. We’re here to make your dream a reality.

Making tables has been some of our favorite projects lately. The beauty of colored resin along with the wood gives a beautiful look and tranquility that will be the perfect addition to your home or office environment.

We try to source our wood locally, our cabinet products are from our suppliers Edensaw in Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula right down the road from where Natalie grew up, and Crosscuts in Portland.

Our tables and small projects are all sourced from around PNW. Most of our live edge slabs are from storm damage trees. If possible we like to find out exactly where the tree is from because every tree has a story, so that wonderful tree can continue it’s life’s journey, bringing you and your family joy for years to come.

“Our goal is to elevate the natural beauty of wood, bringing out the brilliance and clarity for you to enjoy in your home or office.”
